Not a christmas card

This card is for my neices birthday, makes a change from all the christmas cards i've made lately, i've followed the sketch at   http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/

 The papers are new, printed from a CD, the image was a gift from a fellow crafter and is coloured with copics, and ribbon and flowers are from my stash

Well we have the girls sleeping over tonight, as mum and dad are going to a christmas party, so it will be a DVD and popcorn tonight, and I guess an early start to tomorrow

                                                   

QUICK AND SIMPLE

Well i've decided that if I want to get all my  christmas cards done, I will have to do some simple ones, and I managed to make five last night, and I really like them. I went to my first stampin up party a couple of weeks ago, and I have used the stamps I bought, called 'polar party',  on this card I used the trees but there are penguins, a polar bear, a sentiment and a few other small stamps

I used a green promarker and a red jell pen for the trees, and a gold jell pen for the stars and I am entering it in the following challenge

Catching up

Haven't been around much, went to Birmingham at end of Nov for Freddie's 3rd birthday party, and then i've been having problems with internet connection, but hopefully it's sorted now. Managed to get a photo of all four grandchildren together, and here they are

They are Freddie aged 3, Freya 5, George 5 months and Megan who is Freya's sister 8.

Busy, Busy, Busy.

Well I love Christmas, when it finally arrives, but hate all the hastle of shopping for presents, so this year I decided that I would give christmas cakes as presents, so have been busy this week, weighing out ingredients, soaking fruit in brandy, and baking cakes, 6 down and 3 still to make, and will start decorating them tomorrow, as 4 have to be ready for a trip down to Birmingham  at the end of Nov. Anyway in between cakes I have managed to make a few cards and here is one of them, it's for our grandson's first christmas.

It's an 8 x 8 card, and the image, backing paper and inserts are all from a   crafters companion ,popcorn  bear CD, sentiment was done on the computer, and i've added ribbon and a couple of gems

PUDSEY BEAR

I saw this stamp at the Harrogate craft show at the LOTV stall, £2.00 from the sale goes to children in need, and as I was born in Pudsey I had to buy it. And here is one of the cards I made.

I am going to make all my grandchildren a card with the stamp
I coloured  Pudsey with copics, and made my own backing paper, cut a flower with my silhouette robo and added a brad for a bit of bling.

What a lovely day

Well I thought that after the bonfires and fireworks of last night it would be a foggy day today, but it has been a lovely day, with the sun shining brightly, only thing is , the sun shows up the dust, ah well a bit of dust never hurt anyone, and today I am cardmaking, so dusting can wait till tomorrow. I am finally getting to grips with my robo silhouette, and I cut these flowers with it. They were made just using a basic heart shape, welded together to make a flower, cut out in different sizes, and layered up.

I used craft card for the base, and used a papermania birdsong stamp and versemark to make the background, the papers are also papermania birdsong, added a few green gems and sentiment was done on computer.

Where does it go

The time I mean, I always seem to be rushing about and getting nothing done.Well I did make 34 birthday invites for my grandsons party, and had the grandchildren for a day, as it was half term,and we did our first carboot sale on Sun, now that was an experience.Anyway I have managed to make a card this week, and here it is

I love this cute image, it's from a popcorn bear CD as is the backing paper, I used nesties to cut the circles, and the large snoflake is a cuttlebug die, the small ones are punched, and they are covered with stickles. The ribbon is a scrap from my box, and the pearls and gems are also from my stash I am entering this card in the following challenges

Something different

Today I have made something different, these are for my 4 grandchildren, and will be filled with sweets, even little George, who is only 14 wks is getting one, i'm sure mummy and daddy will eat the sweets for him.

The spider image was a freebie from digistampboutique, and I made it into a backing paper on the computer and then printed onto card, and then made into cartons on my Hougie board. The little witch is a digi from .bugaboostamps the teddy in the pumpkin is from  .disdigidownloads and the other cute image is from digistampboutique.  and they are all coloured with copics. The little stickers are from  a pound shop. I really enjoyed making these and will probably make some as christmas gifts

Very wet and windy

What an awful day, weather wise that is, the sun came out for a while this afternoon, so hubby went for a walk, and came back soaked to the skin  and freezing cold. I on the other hand was sensible and stayed in and made a card.

My recycled item is  the wired star, it is from an old christmas card, image is from bugaboo and is coloured with copics. The card looked a bit dark till I added the glitter snoflakes, but they seem to have lifted it a bit.

SORRY

I haven't visited any blogs for a while, but I will rectify that as soon as I finish this post. We have been away visiting family, I did take my netbook with me, to keep in touch but my 2 year old grandson kept trying to help me, pressing all the keys at once, so I gave up trying. Another christmas card

I was supposed to be going out for lunch today,with a friend, unfortunatly she has a chest infection and couldn't make it, so I have spent my day colouring in images,and now I am making them into cards, here is the first one

The image is Humphrey, and he was free with  'papercraft essentials issue72 ' and I have coloured him with a mixture of copics and promarkers. The backing paper was also a freebie from 'cardmaking and papercraft' sometime last year. I have added glitter for the snow, and also added stickles to the snoflakes. It's raining again

but at least the wind has dropped, it ripped a hanging basket complete with bracket off the wall the other night, quite scary. Anyway here is another card, this is my  Sept friendship card for the docrafts forum.

A CHRISTMAS CARD

I started the year making 1 christmas card a week for a challenge on docrafts, but have got way behind, so when I saw the challenge on pink gem, I thought great i'll get started again, lets hope I can keep it up.

I have used a pink gem digi stamp and  used stickles 'frosted lace' for the rain and puddle, the large snowflakes are a provo craft die and the smaller ones are punched.

USED SOME NEW STASH

Hi all 2 cards in 2 days things are looking up, this card is for the friendship swap on Docrafts. I bought the Marianne die at Summer Crafting in Doncaster, and this is the first time I have used it, it goes really well with the flowers, def a good buy.I have coloured the image with promarkers, instead of my usual copics, I only have 12 which I won as blog candy, so don't have many colours, but just the right colours for this image.

HAD A FAB HOLIDAY

We went away camping the week before last, first time for 5 years, and really enjoyed it. Our daughter Tracy and family came with us, we were near Matlock in Derbyshire, and our other daughter and grandson came to visit for a day, they live in Birmingham, so not too far to travel. The only downside was I got some terrible bites on my legs,  which were quite painful, why is it always me that gets bitten?I must be tasty. Anyway I have finally made a card, always takes me a while to find my mojo when i've been away, and here it is

Been AWOL

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, May and June are difficult months for me, won't bore you with why, but we have a new grandson, and that pushed me back into getting on with some card making. George Edward was born at 11.12pm on July 3rd, weighing 6lb 6oz, and he's gorgeous.As we didn't know what sex the baby was going to be I started 2 cards, 1 pink, 1 blue, and finished the blue one as soon as we got the news.

It's an 8x8 card and the image is from a MCS cd, sentiment computer generated and cut with nesties, I also decorated the inside

and here's the verse I added

I also decorated a plain gift bag with the same image, and changed the handles to ribbon, instead of brown cord

I am pleased with how they all turned out, just need someone to have a baby girl now, then I can finish off the pink card.
